Day 1: Arrive Frankfurt Check in to your hotel in Germany’s buzzing financial hub and enjoy a free afternoon before meeting your tour director and fellow travellers in the evening. Leonardo Royal Frankfurt

Day 2: Frankfurt – Weimar – Berlin Today you’ll head to the intellectual heart of Germany, Weimar, once home to many famous luminaries such as Bach and Goethe. You’ll continue through Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt to reach the capital city of Berlin. (B) Abba Berlin (2 nights)

Day 3: Berlin On this morning’s fascinating guided tour discover a blend of old and new. Berlin has both iconic architecture and modern buildings, along with a lively eccentricity – anything goes in this beautiful city. (B)

Day 4: Berlin – Pozan – Warsaw Enjoy a drive east to Pozan, one of Poland’s oldest trading centres. Admire the impressive Renaissance market square before heading on to Poland’s capital, Warsaw. (BD) Hotel MDM Warsaw (2 nights)

Day 5: Warsaw Learn about the magnificent reconstruction of Warsaw following the destruction of WWII on a fascinating guided tour. (B)

Day 6: Warsaw – Jasna Góra – Auschwitz – Krakow As you head south today, you’ll have many encounters with fascinating history. Jasna Góra is the monastery that faced the repeated onslaught of the Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th Century. Its Black Madonna is revered as the ‘Queen of Poland’ and has become the country’s national symbol. Before arriving in Krakow, you’ll pay an emotional visit to the ruins of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, a haunting reminder of the tragedies of the Holocaust. (BD) Hotel Swing (2 nights)

Day 7: Krakow Known as Poland’s most beautiful city and its former capital, Krakow is certainly the country’s cultural heart. Enjoy a morning of sightseeing, taking in the sights of the city including the Jewish Quarter, Market Square, St. Mary’s Church and Wawel Cathedral. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your leisure. (B)

Day 8: Krakow – Budapest Take in spectacular scenery as you travel through three countries today; Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. Your destination is multicultural Budapest. (BD) Novotel Centrum (2 nights)

Day 9: Budapest Spend the day taking in all the sights and sounds on a guided tour of Budapest. (B)

Day 10: Budapest – Vienna Embark on a journey to the Austrian border, and spend an evening in its lively capital, Vienna. Enjoy the included sightseeing tour with a Local Guide: the State Opera, Parliament, and the Town Hall. (B) Star Inn Schoenbrunn

Day 12: Prague Wake up surrounded by Prague’s incredible Gothic architecture and enjoy a sightseeing tour for insightful visits to the Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge, and Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical Clock. (B)

Day 13: Prague – Munich Cross into the dense landscape of the Bohemian Forest to reach the Czech-German border. Enjoy the refreshing Bavarian scenery before arriving in Munich, Germany’s ‘secret capital’. (B) Achat Premium Muenchen Sud

Day 14: Munich – Nördlingen – Rothenburg – Frankfurt The highlight today is undoubtedly the Romantic Road, which runs north to south as far as the Alps. First, visit lovely medieval Nördlingen, built on a crater formed by a meteorite millions of years ago.
